#45 Carnaval Paraguayan Style! Encarnacion

No trip to South America could be complete without attending Carnaval but with no plans to visit Rio we were happy to settle for what Paraguay had to offer. We had heard there was more bare flesh, more brazen performers, and more crowd involvement and it lived up to its reputation: plenty of skin on show and a lot of spray snow. I think this is a good one for letting the pictures do the talking.....

Pretty typical clothing for the night......

Outside the parade entrance vendors were selling spray cans of white foam and clear clear plastic glasses to shield your eyes from the stuff. Reece and I opted for more fashionable accessories (at least in our minds) neither of which offered any eye protection but hey, that is the price of fashion.

Before the spray can attack...

...and after.
For the occasion Reece had given himself a fro with his growing masses of curls. This made him, and consequently me, a major target for the crowds around us....

The girls were happy to pose for pictures...

Not too many men in the show, and most were dressed as pirates - I have no idea why. But I found this one for the ladies...

What a great night - we could barely stand after five hours of dancing. I highly recommend Encarnacion for Carnaval.
